The Orangerie

The Orangerie - or citrus fruit greenhouse - is one of the symbols of the loisir of the Garden. Its structure, which acts as a connecting element with the Villa, is characterized by noble architectural forms, particularly in the monumental front, with large windows alternating with light walls that end with sculptural groups depicting putti.

At the center a niche recently restored by Fondazione Augusto Rancilio covered in mosaic and embellished with a terracotta statue of Bacchus, concludes one of the garden's axes, also emphasized by the Water Tower, home of the hydraulic mechanisms of the "delight" garden. These mechanisms were designed based on the ancient drawings of Leonardo da Vinci.

The restoration was started thanks to a tender by the Lombardy Region, the Rotation Fund, for € 698,000, of which € 315,000 paid by Finlombarda (of which € 80,000 is a non-repayable loan) and an additional € 383,000 by Villarconati srl. The remaining quota was financed by Fondazione Augusto Rancilio, also thanks to the donations of the "Friends of Villa Arconati-FAR".
