Baroque Day at Villa Arconati -

THE 18TH CENTURY IN MUSIC
Sunday, September 24 from 7 p.m. Baroque music at the Arconati "court"

An evening to experience the Noble Court of Villa Arconati as Guests at the "court" of the Arconati family in the eighteenth century: the most famous melodies of Bach and Vivaldi will be the crowning glory of an entire day in which the Villa will go back in time to the splendor of the golden century when it was so splendid that it was called "the little Versailles of Milan."

Over the course of the day, reenactors from Il Tempo Ritrovato will bring back to life the customs and traditions of centuries past through clothes, original objects and tales of a now-lost past.

The day will culminate at 8:30 p.m. with an 18th-century concert by the Corale Lirica Ambrosiana. The concert will be preceded, for those who wish, by an Apericena to be enjoyed in the enchanted atmosphere of Villa Arconati.

THE EVENING'S PROGRAM:
J. S. Bach | Concerto in A minor for violin, strings and harpsichord
A. Vivaldi | "Gloria" in D major RV 589 for soloists, choir and orchestra

AMBROSIAN OPERA CHORALE:
Orchestra | 15 professors with harpsichordist
Choir | 50 singers
Soloists | Soprano and Contralto

Corale Lirica Ambrosiana is a nonprofit association, founded in 1961 under the name Corale Libertas Bovisa. Since then it has played an important and significant role in the Milanese music scene, both at the city level and at the regional and extra-regional levels. It consists of more than 60 elements divided into the voices of first tenors, second tenors, baritones, basses, first sopranos, second sopranos and altos. For years it has been collaborating with important and prestigious institutions and entities in staging performances aimed at popularizing and raising awareness of opera and opera-symphonic singing among the citizens: for more than 30 years it has been a guest at Palazzo Marino for the New Year's Concert together with the glorious metropolitan marching bands. Since 2007 it has performed Lyric Operas at the Rocchetta courtyard of the Castello Sforzesco, shows organized by the Tourism and Entertainment Department of the City of Milan in the summer season; it has staged opera-symphonic events at the Conservatory, Teatro Dal Verme, "Casa di riposo G. Verdi" and at other prestigious theaters in the Milan area. Corale Lirica Ambrosiana is proud to have in its repertoire the most beautiful and celebrated operas and symphonic works and the most famous pieces of the classical music repertoire. It also boasts a consolidated experience in the theatrical field, having performed in the repertoire operas both on stage and in costume and in concert form in the most prestigious theaters in Milan, Italy and Europe.
