The 2023 Festival 35th edition
The Villa Arconati Festival is a musical and cultural project realized thanks to the collaboration between the City of Bollate, Fondazione Augusto Rancilio and supporters of the event. The origin of the event dates back to 1985, when Villa Arconati was first opened to the public to host classical music concerts. The music festival would give way in 1989 to the Villa Arconati Festival, which, over all these years, has established itself as one of the most prestigious events of the Milanese summer.
The great involvement and strong attraction that the Festival exerts on the public are proof of how it is possible to promote in the hinterland of a large city like Milan cultural events of great prestige and success.
In its thirty-five years of activity, it has consolidated its own identity and tradition of an event that is attentive to giving ear and voice to sounds that can tell, excite and make people dream, in an extraordinary alternation of musical genres. Over the years it has seen the main musical artists of the Italian and international scene take turns on stage on genres ranging from rock to pop, soul and jazz to the most interesting experiences of world music and indie production.
The Festival's staging is set in the striking location framed between the south facade of Villa Arconati and the French-style gardens, with the perspective of the rows of hornbeams and dancers and the decorations of the parterre restored to their 18th-century splendor. The Festival dialogues intimately with the Villa's environments, relates to its history and allows for unique suggestions and emotions.
This 35th anniversary will be an opportunity to celebrate one of the most important and long-lived music festivals in the Milanese hinterland and on the national scene. And all around the beauty of a simply unique setting, thanks also to the recent restorations that have made Villa Arconati even more bewitching.
